Who We Are
Kids2Families (K2F) was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who witnessed the growing global problem of children left behind. They saw first-hand the dire need for each of these children to be loved. After visiting enough orphanages worldwide, the founding group concluded that many of the world’s adoption agencies are successful at placing infants with families; however, the older children, and perhaps the most needy, often get left behind. They realized that the problem must be addressed globally. And, finding loving families to embrace the world’s children of every age became the obvious solution.
Though K2F addresses the growing situation of children left behind in developing countries, we are not an adoption agency. Rather, K2F is a pro-family, pro-child organization that creates both transitional and adoptive homes with loving families who live by our core values and practice traditional family roles. We believe the traditional family is critically important because it is the most fundamental unit that makes up an intact society.
We believe a child’s development is optimized when he or she can be raised in a traditional family — a man and woman who are lawfully wedded with spousal roles clearly defined. Wives are primarily the nurturers of their children. Husbands preside over their families in love and righteousness and provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. We believe fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Parents have a duty to rear their children in kindness and love, and to provide not only for the physical needs, but also the spiritual, emotional, social, and mental needs of their children.
K2F families manage K2F homes and prepare children for permanent family life by teaching core values through love. For the benefit of the child, family, and society, our organization will not waiver from the definition of family and the values they live by, and will only align with those who believe and live by the same principles.
K2F will also provide support services for children adopted into families, so the economic and emotional impact on the adopting family will not be an obstacle in the child’s adoption. We will also partner with like-minded organizations to further our cause.

K2F Cultures
K2F has a deep respect for the fact that the cultures we are born into help shape who we are. Many developing countries may be poor economically but rich in culture. K2F believes it is important for families to nurture each child by practicing the cultures they are accustomed to in order to reinforce the child’s sense of self. Though they may experience new cultural ideals and core values from the families who embrace them, K2F children will never lose their heritage.
One of the ways K2F can help nurture cultures is through same-country adoptions. Inter-country adoption has become popular over the past few decades and certainly serves a purpose. However, K2F believes the most effective, efficient, and economical way to reach the goal of providing every child with a loving family is to promote same-country adoptions first. Adoption laws vary among countries. With inter-country adoption, the laws of two countries must be considered. With same-country adoption, a child must qualify for adoption under the laws of his or her country of origin in order to be adopted.

Additionally, families who live in the same country as the child are more apt to know the local culture. In many third world cultures, it is traditional for children to work to help support the family. It is very common for older children in developing countries to help with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of younger siblings. Also, contributing to the family business, or working on the family farm may be valuable ways in which children can contribute to the family in third-world cultures. Never does K2F condone child slavery, abusive child labor, or illegal child labor of any form.
By supporting acceptable cultural practices, we want K2F children to feel a strong sense of belonging to their families. In K2F homes, each child will be empowered with a robust work ethic that will contribute to their future lives.
The K2F Program
K2F Families begin with a man and a woman lawfully wed as husband and wife. K2F families live traditional core values and operate from a position of strength, confidence and love. This position enables the family to embrace more children in the home — children who, for one reason or another, find themselves without families. Only K2F couples who live by these values are selected to manage K2F homes.
K2F Prep Homes: These homes are congruent to the family environments in which a K2F child will be placed permanently. K2F Prep Homes are operated by loving married couples who have successful experience raising children. K2F Prep Homes, once built, are economically self-sufficient and provide all the necessities of a traditional family home. Children living in K2F prep homes attend school and are given age-appropriate chores. This home is a transitioning place with volunteers that help provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children grow physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and socially while receiving an exceptional education. If a child in need reaches adulthood, K2F prep homes also help prepare these mature children for independent living. Older children will qualify for higher education so that they can become a vital part of their communities and raise self-sufficient families of their own. Children who transition through a K2F Prep Home are easily integrated into their K2F Adoptive Home.
K2F Adoptive Homes: Families who adopt K2F kids live the same ideals as K2F Prep Homes except for one thing – the loving married couples who maintain these homes are willing to legally adopt the children they take in. K2F acts as a liaison between the family and the adoption agency to ensure the child’s best interests are met.
K2F Kids: K2F Kids can be found across the United States as well as around the world in developing countries. They are left behind when their parents die, abandon them, or provide an unsafe environment. It is our vision that each K2F Kid, in addition to receiving a loving and nurturing family, eventually gives back. A child who transitions through a K2F Prep Home and is permanently placed in a K2F Adoptive Home will not only make an excellent member of their family, but will make a great K2F volunteer.
K2F Volunteers are needed to help at K2F Prep Homes. For example, volunteers may help wash and feed the children or teach them personal hygiene. On a social level, K2F volunteers can offer friendship and support to children living in K2F Prep Homes. Whether helping children complete their homework, playing sports, teaching English, singing songs or teaching them a new game, the time and attention volunteers give to K2F Kids is invaluable. K2F kids who stay the course and live by the K2F core values may be selected to operate a K2F Home of their own one day.
